He gets his moves from his mother

Finally, I got around to getting some video up on the blog. Sarah chastised me that Mary was much more productive at getting video on her blog, so I had no choice.

So anyway, here is a picture of Cooper showing off his fancy dancing maneuvers.

Cooper at 3 weeks

Somehow its already been 3 weeks since Cooper showed up. It seems the days just fly by (I think Jill might disagree), but its easy to see how much he's changed in just over 20 days of his life. Evidence of that is the fact that when he was just born, most people thought he resembled me more than Jill. Now 2.5 weeks later, everyone seems to think he favors Jill (which is a good thing). He seems to have Jill's skin coloring and face shape, and maybe has my eyes and skinny little arms and legs. Whatever mix of the two of us he ends up being, I think we'll keep him.

Jill and Cooper share a nap

I think he got his Dad's belly too

He loves his Pistol Pete mobile, and I'm a sucker for his little puppy hat so we get lots of bedtime pictures

Cooper's weekend

A good, relaxing weekend. Cooper got out to take a trip to Boulder to meet his favorite aunt, took the dogs for a walk, took a trip out with me to give Jill some time to herself and entertained one set of grandparents via webcam. That's a pretty busy weekend for a 3 week old, but we all know he is probably more on par with say a 16 or 17 year old by this point... :)

Pics from the weekend

Cooper literally hanging out, legs dangling from the Baby Bjorn.

Already a ham for the camera

After his big day on the town, he decided to check out the new crib with his monkey buddy

Catching up with Cooper Photos

I've been getting hazed by people who have a fever, and the only prescription is More Cooper! Sorry, in our journey through daytime television we watched something on E! about the 100 best skits in SNL history, and who can't resist reusing an already overdone cowbell joke right?

Oh yeah pics of Cooper...

Here Cooper checks something out while knocking out a bottle

Soon his eyes shut, but he keeps on at the task at hand

Maybe I should have called it good...

After feeding, its time to be put down for sleep (and admire the sweet Pistol Pete mobile)

But of course, he has to ham it up a bit for the camera too

One of my favorites that I don't think I've posted up yet, from about an hour after he was born

Another one of my favorites

And one from his "lets try to look like Charlie Brown" photo shoot.

Cooper's Room, ready at last.

It has been a long, drawn out process of getting Cooper's room finished. The crib we ordered in mid-March, didn't come in until the day before he was born. Once in, the hardware to put it together wasn't correct so it couldn't be assembled. But persistence paid off, and we now have Cooper's room setup initially (more decorations to come I'm sure).

And Coop finally gets to check out his new crib. He was intrigued with the tiger on the pattern. Lets just hope he isn't "allergic to tigers" like his Aunt Sarah was at an early age.

Getting back in to getting back out

Jill and I leveraged the grandparents this morning and headed up to the high country to get Jill a much needed day out. We decided to do the Lake Isabelle hike in the Indian Peaks Wilderness. Its a popular destination, but we had only been once and the deep snow cut our trip short so today was a bit of redemption.

The weather was not great, overcast and threatening to rain and quite cool when we arrived at the trailhead at 8 A.M. Its never really summer at 11,000 feet, and it wasn't long before we encountered snow, although none on the trail itself. We made pretty quick work of the way up, moving quickly past Long Lake to Lake Isabelle. Of course, we took tons of photos on the way.

The columbine is still out at 11,000 feet

Waterfalls were abundant

Finally! The waters calmed on our way back down.

Run off from the Isabelle Glacier

Looks like a good place to grab a beer, and Jill was overdue

Don't mind if I do...

Later Sunday night, we took Cooper out for his first outing. Jill's birthday is Tuesday, so we celebrated tonight with an early dinner since I'll be in San Antonio for a couple days this week. Cooper seemed to enjoy the car ride, although my thinking that he would sleep the whole time was off base. He just sat there wide-eyed and quiet, taking it all in. He did take the liberty to sleep through dinner. Its amazing how easy he has been so far, such a good kid we feel really lucky.

Lots more pics from the hike today, and of course more Cooper pics when I get a chance to process them (shot RAW today in an attempt to mix it up). Yeah I'm crazy.

We made it a week...

Its been a blur, but a week has passed by since Cooper arrived. Things have definitely been different, but its been incredible all the same. Jill and I got out for the first time last night, meeting up with Jason Brandt for dinner as he travels through the Front Range on his way to Summit County for his annual summer pilgrimage. It was good to get out and have a break from poopy diapers, but it was also nice to get back home and see my son as well.

Monday is the real test when I have to get on a plane and be gone for a couple of days. There is no two ways about it, its going to be tough. Until then, we'll just continue to sit around and laugh at the funny faces Coop makes and how he can go from completely content to screaming to happy again in a 5 second span.

Why Cooper, what big eyes you have...

Super Cooper

Cooper is loving the life in his little bouncy chair. He sits in the chair and just takes it all in, then when he decides he is ready for a nap he is always rockin' the superman pose.

The Kids

Well our family of 4 became 5, and two of the 4 weren't immediately sure they like the new addition but they've warmed up to him nicely now. Baloo was noticeably mad at me when we came home from the hospital, but last night he slept right next to Cooper's bed all night and seems to be like he is taking on the protector role already.

Surprise!

Who would have thought, some more pics of Coop. This taking pictures of kids is new to me, so bear with me. When all else fails, just fly to Tulsa to go see Kelly right?

Home.

The gang is all back home. Baloo is mad at me about this little, squirmy thing I've brought into his life and I'm not sure Molly even realized there was anything new. We had a great first night home with Cooper, Judy cooked up a big meal and the whole immediate family (that is in the lower 48 states) was there.

Here are some pics from the last couple days:

Jill explains the rules of our house to Cooper.

The proud grandparents and aunt.

Jill's Mom, Judy, can't wait to get her turn holding her first grandbaby

My Mom, Martha, is quick to follow to get to hold her first grandbaby

And Aunt Sarah will probably hold this kid as much as Jill and I over the next couple of years.

And can you believe this woman delivered her first baby less than 10 hour ago? I don't believe her either, I think she had a body double.

My boy

We will be headed home with Cooper today. He is doing wonderfully and
is anxious to meet his two four legged siblings.

Cooper and Jill doing great

Cooper is doing great and is happily making the rounds being passes between all the proud grandparents and his aunt Sarah. Jill continues to amaze us all with her resillience.

Thanks to everyone for all the thoughts and wishes, Coop comes into the world with quite a fan base. It's great to have such incredible friends and family. Tons of pictures and movies to be posted up once we get home, which should be tomorrow some time.

Cooper Clay White

Cooper was born at 7:56pm Friday, August 1st. He was 7lbs 12 ounces and measured out at 20 inches. Jill was a superstar and I survived without passing out. Everyone is doing fine, more pics and details to follow when we get a bit of sleep.

Progressing

Things are moving along and the support staff has arrived. We are
expecting to have some news in the next hour or two, but for now Jill
is enjoying the epidural and both doing great.

Next update should be the big announcement!

Today is the day...

Things are moving forward, albeit slowly. We have to wait a couple
hours now for the drugs to kick in but it shouldn't be too much longer.

Thanks to Nancy's crew for the flowers, they have been a big hit.

Baby Time, Baby!

The time has come. We're loaded up and headed to the hospital!

Will post more details when I can, right now I have some breathing duties to attend to...
