Memorial Day Hike

Staying healthy has proven difficult for our family recently. Cooper came down with strep throat, then Jill and Lauren both battled through some variation of it and finally I started getting sick just in time for the glorious Memorial Day weekend. Perfect timing.

Sore throat be damned, by Monday I started feeling well enough to get out. With the 50,000 runners descending on Boulder for the annual Bolder Boulder (or is that Boulder Bolder?) we were looking to avoid Boulder proper. Jill couldn't handle another loop around our oft traveled Heil Ranch loop, so we started looking for other options. We quickly settled on what was described as "Boulder's best kept hiking secret", the Anne U. White trail just NW of town.

We got loaded up, grabbed some sub sandwiches for a picnic lunch along the way. Everything worked out great as we quickly hit the trailhead to find one of the five parking spots and off we went.
