Cooper's new pool

From Cooper in the pool

After 3 failed attempts to get Cooper to the community pools, Jill finally just went and bought him a little pool for the backyard. He loves playing in the water, so its money well spent. Some pics from his latest adventures in H20.

Father's Day Weekend

A new holiday! Man if I knew I could get another holiday just by having a kid, I'd have done it a long time ago...We spent most of the weekend up near Nederland, hanging out with Mr. and Mrs. Punisher up in their sweet getaway house. Did some hiking in the national forest that adjoins the land, some good food and got to see my first bear in Colorado today.

Some pics from our hike at Mudd Lake today

And lastly, a couple pics I stole from Sarah from Memorial Day weekend. Yack and Cooper taking a stroll after a nice family dinner. One of my favorite moments. Its not something you can really describe, but what an incredible moment to get to watch your son take some of his first steps hand in hand with your Dad.

Blog o'rama

Time has gotten away from me lately. Did a crazy week of being home, then Casper, WY for a day then Calgary for a couple days, back home for a brief weekend and then back to Calgary again. Lots of happenings. So here goes a shotgun blast of the last couple weeks, not necessarily in chronological order...

Cooper got a new pool, we played in it today

I got my first day of mountain bike patrol in a couple weekends ago, and played around on some off the beaten path trails.

Lucked out and caught Coldplay with Snow Patrol in Calgary last Wednesday. Scalped some floor tickets and ended up dead center 15 rows from the stage. Primo seats and another great live show by Coldplay.

Getting back to our adventurous ways, Jill and I headed to Salida, CO to do some zip lining. We got to do 6 zip lines with the longest line being about 500 feet and quite speedy. The lines went across a canyon, providing a cool experience of flying through the air. They didn't let us take cameras, so no pics unfortunately but here are a couple pics from the company's site.

Also got over to Banff to have dinner with the interweb superstars Chris and Marni Plesko. Chris was setting off on the unfathomable 2800 mile self supported race, theTour Divide the following day, and Marni was busy being an all-star wife driving Chris and several others to Banff then driving solo back to CO to wait for Chris to get to the US/Mexico border in 2 - 3 weeks.

Thus far, Chris is killing it. Check his progress here...

Fixie Dave is also rocking it on the Tour Divide, but heading from the south to the north. Sending some good vibes to Dave hoping that this is his year to be the first to finish this race on a fixed gear bike. Check out Dave's progress here...

The other big news is that Jill joined the iPhone revolution today, getting a new iPhone 3G S. Yeah I've got a bit of phone envy, but sadly I'm not eligible for an upgrade till December which means it will be this time next year when Apple inevitably releases the next iPhone.

I think that hits the high spots for the last couple weeks, this weekend we're heading up to the Punisher's summer place up near Nederland for a BBQ and maybe some hiking and/or riding. And then a much needed week at home before starting another big adventure....

The kid likes his baths

From Cooper bath time

Two series of photos, one from Jill taken at Sarah's house Thursday night when they gave him a quick bath in the sink. Evidently when he eats 5 graham crackers, he gets a little messy. The other set is from Friday night after Jill, Cooper and I got back from dinner in Boulder.

Jill's Little Helper

I'm not really sure why Jill thinks this motherhood thing is hard...Cooper is always willing to lend a hand. For instance, she was looking for a bowl the other day and Cooper was right there to help her out.

Then when she was needing to put some things in the recycling bin, Cooper was once again eager to help her out...

More from Memorial Day

We made a trip up to Tulsa/BVille. Got to see Jim, Judy, Uncle Jerry and then Grandma Vi. Bonus lunch with BK, Amy, Ty and Bo in BVille as well...

We did a food tour of Tulsa, hung out with the Lovejoy clan, got a bike ride in with Jason Brandt (who rocked a 3rd place finish in the Tulsa Tough crits) and relaxed for a couple days. After our stop in T Town, we headed back down to OKC to finish out the week. Sarah and Jill both got some good pics from the rest of the weekend:

After that we headed back to Denver, driving through one heck of a nasty storm in the process. After that it was back to business as usual in CO and then Calgary for me. Really great to get to see the families and friends, unfortunately we missed the Doerrs, Jennifer Brandt and Bradley's much better half Erica. Next time....
